2018 (Apr 30th – May 6th)

Royal Society of Medicine Section of Surgery Overseas visit to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center & Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory New York City, USA

The visiting fellowship to MSKCC under the International Observership Program with Dr Julio Garcia-Aguilar was undertaken in robotic colorectal oncology. I also visited the NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center for a guided tour and orientation under Prof. Parul Shukla. A grant was kindly received from Raise healthcare.

2016 (Sept 21st – 28th)

ASGBI / BJS Overseas Surgical Fellowship (India)

Christian Medical College, Vellore, India with Dr. Mark Ranjan Jesudasan. An over-view of colorectal practice was gained by the visit in addition to attending the national conference of the ACRSI, ISUCRS & ISPFD. CMC Vellore is an educational and research institute renowned in India and internationally. It was founded in 1900 by an American missionary, Dr Ida S. Scudder.

2015 (March 23rd – 30th)

Gerald Townsley Award (Medway Hospitals NHS Trust) – Bangkok:

Proctology / complex cancer travel fellowship to Thailand with Prof. Arun Rojanasokul / Prof. Chucheep Sahakitrungruang. Colorectal Surgery, Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok.

2011 (May 16th – 25th)

Gwilym Griffith Travelling Fellowship (Awarded by Welsh Surgical Society) - Erlangen, Germany

To gain insight into European colorectal / proctology surgical practice. Time was spent with Prof. Werner Hohenberger and Prof. Klaus Matzel who pioneered Total Meso-colic excision / High vascular ligation and sacral nerve stimulation respectively. I spent time in assisting a number of meso-colic excisions.

2010 (May 10 – 12th)

Narayana Health city & Kiran Mazumdhar Shaw Cancer Centre – India

A cluster of sub-speciality hospitals specialising in Cardiac / Trauma and Onco-surgery. I undertook a research project, evaluating decision making process in their MDT (Tumour board meeting)

2007 (May 30th - June 2)

Travelling Fellowship to Paris (Awarded by Royal Society of Medicine, UK)

Department of surgery, Hospital St.Antoine, Paris, France was visited as a part of the RSM overseas meeting. It was interesting to see the variation in the surgical practice compared to the UK. Presented my research work in the RSM overseas meeting.
